Training Assistance Partnership (TAP) Program

You’re Going Places. TAP Can Help Get You There!

The Training Assistance Partnership (TAP) Program is designed to assist dislocated and low-income workers who are unemployed or underemployed and actively pursuing employment. The program provides the following services:

Career Coaching

Program participants receive weekly one-on-one coaching tailored to their specific needs and career goals. During these sessions, a career coach will work with the participant to fine-tune their résumé, enhance their job search activities and practice their interviewing skills. In certain cases, participants may also be eligible for retention coaching sessions after they obtain a job.

Employability & Soft Skills Training

Provided in partnership with Vance-Granville Community College, the program’s employability and soft skills classes provide participants with the motivational, retention and communication skills needed to increase their likelihood of obtaining and retaining a job. Participants who complete these training sessions are eligible to take the WorkKeys assessment and potentially earn an industry-recognized Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).

Transportation Assistance

Program participants who successfully complete their career coaching plan are eligible to receive transportation assistance (in the form of a pre-paid gas card) for up to ten weeks.
